UPDATE PREVIEW

Merak learned to listen

BLACKFOX EDITORIAL
READY IN GIT · NOT YET INSTALLED ON THE SERVER

The next major update changes more than the infected roster. Merak is becoming far more attentive to what players do.

They no longer look the same

New infected variants are coming to the island with more diverse appearances, behavior, and abilities. Encounters should differ by more than enemy count: silhouette, movement, and context will help reveal what you are facing.

Noise becomes a mechanic

Gunfire and explosions will matter beyond the immediate fight. The world reacts to loud events, and infected can notice what previously faded into the background. A careless firefight may bring far more visitors than you planned for.

Suppressors become survival tools

A suppressor no longer exists only to change a weapon’s sound. Quiet fire becomes a deliberate tactical choice that helps you control a situation without announcing your position to the whole district. It does not make you invisible.

New events and triggers

The update introduces new events and activation conditions. Some encounters will emerge as a response to location, time, or player actions instead of appearing as disconnected scenery. Merak becomes less predictable — and much more attentive.

Loot no longer follows the old schedule

Chest spawn timing has been revised. Familiar routes and waiting for rewards on a fixed rhythm will need a rethink: expeditions should once again reward exploration, risk, and the willingness to return later.

A gunshot is not only a way to solve a problem. Sometimes it is a way to tell everything else where you are.

The build is ready in Git but has not yet been installed on the game server. We will announce the actual release separately after deployment and verification.
